In the 19th century, the Syrian Shashka (Shamshir) curved sword was equipped with brass engraved fittings. The hook-shaped curve at the bottom of the handle and the cross-shaped guard were quite exotic. The slender blade made of white steel had a unique aesthetic charm. The whole design of the sword carried the typical aesthetic taste of the Central Asian region.
