Middle-aged men are truly an interesting bunch. They are no longer as impulsive, passionate, or focused on the opposite sex as young people. When they reach middle age, they all of a sudden start to develop a liking for all sorts of strange and unusual things almost in unison. For example, activities like savoring tea, drinking wine, fishing, running, traveling, practicing calligraphy, playing with Buddhist beads, doing sports, watching ball games, and going to the movies are relatively normal hobbies.
However, there is also a group of middle-aged men whose behaviors are truly odd. They get into collecting things, and the items they collect are incredibly diverse. Things like knives, outdoor gear, badges, coins, telescopes, statues, playing cards, comic books, stamps, cloth ration coupons, phone cards, stones, pieces of wood, matchboxes… You name it! You can imagine all kinds of them, big and small, and there’s no limit to their variety.
