In the second half of the 1990s, numerous knife factories were producing tactical knives. Among them, the most renowned one was surely Masters of Defense.
Masters of Defense, abbreviated as MOD, was founded in 1996 and used to be a world-famous brand for combat knives. All five of its knife designers were either combat masters or veterans of special forces. MOD had an almost obsessive requirement for quality and also redefined the new standards for mass-produced tactical knives. However, it’s a pity that it was acquired later.
